A recipe defines how Sonny works: its prompts, model choices, orchestration, and tool policies. Keep recipes in Git so changes can be reviewed and reused.

Compatibility names

Recipes is the product name, and sonny recipe is the canonical command. sonny pack remains a compatibility alias. Existing storage and configuration names such as pack-sources.yaml, pack-repos, packs/, and pack.schema.json retain their meaning. The /docs/packs/ links also remain valid.

Tracked sources live in pack-sources.yaml under $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/sonny; clones are cached under $XDG_CACHE_HOME/sonny/pack-repos.

Recipes describe a workflow. Lanning provides the durable knowledge and control-plane services around that workflow.
